selamat berpuasa :)


selamat berpuasa to everyone. actually kan i dah lama taruk these pictures kat sini but baru ni ah sempat nak type a bit here. this was the roast chicken that i did like what 2 weeks ago? pun tak ingat what i wanted to write about..but just to say that roast chicken is one of the easiet dishes to make when you do not have enough time to slave in the kitchen. just rub the chicken with salt and pepper in the stomach cavity too, and put it in the oven at 400 degrees F. leave it there for about an hour or so.




anyway, just bake it till the skin turn this beautiful golden colour and also you can vary the spices. sometimes i use rosemary with lemon. again just insert the spices in the stomach cavity and it will do all the work. sometimes, to make the chicken more flavourful, you can rub butter, be it flavoured or not under the skin..this will keep the chicken moist and oh so yummy. i just roast this chicken as is. you can also add vegetable around the chicken, don't forget to season it and there you have your side dish.



but no matter what kan..my fav is still fried chicken lah. tiap tiap hari i can eat that. but honestly, these past few weeks i have been eating rojak a lot. with every meal and well, ingatkan nak diet lah..eat less rice but more rojak kan..but plan back fire lah..makin sedap tekak i makan nasi berulam kan rojak..nak nak when it is pedas and manis gitu.. so i got to thinking..how to lose weight while eating rojak when i bet the amount of sugar they put into the ready made kuah rojak is a lot..hahaha. so i am off that for now. sarah calls it my stinky salad..ada ker time kiter duduk makan she told me to put my salad on the opposite side because she cannot stand the smell...nanti dia,..when she is sleeping..i will sapu itu petis kat hidung dia eh..haha..

i also have a new blonde brownie recipe. this one doesn't have chocolate chips..unlike the other brown sugar brownie recipe. this one has toasted coconut, toasted nuts and toffee bits..and i tell you..it ti so rich but very yummy. the first time i made this it didn't last that long..sean and i polished this thing within 2 days (manalah nak lose weight cam gini kan..hahahahha)
anyway, i made this brownie for the staff piknik for the annual library picnic. not i attended it..but since takder orang nak buat dessert, i pun volunteer lah. it was a hit. and i have it like 4 times now. and so i think i have od-ed on this brownie lah..for myself at least. today for buka puasa, i made chicken adobo to eat with rice. sarina requested this..since she is full time fasting right now..i will cook what she requested.





first day puasa tentulah teruk sikit..she was so bummed..hahha. but takper..as the days go by she will be okay..for myself i made sop tulang..waiting for sean to come back from ellsworth. tomorrow we will start to move some of our things to the new house in ellsworth...and i think sarina is finally realising the reality of having to move..moving away from her friends and all that...so we'll see how she be like in the next 2 weeks or so. well, kak za selamat berbuka eh..to the others..selamat berpuasa..for the 2nd day of ramadhan :)
