okay saw this episode on food network and thought how gorgeous is that...and the lady went on and on and on , on how good it is. and the ppl also was raving on how light and delicious and lucious and all the necessary adjectives lah to describe this decadent dessert. so petang tadi i said to myself, that die die must try this one. and here are the results...
red velvet cupcake...now i am not a fan of cupcakes..i only like to try it jer..all in all one batch dapatlah about 29 pieces..ah kau..saper dah nak kena makan all these..i certainly can only eat one and that is it. bilang kat sean, bawak gi tempat kej dia lah..but he pelokek ..he said he does not want to bring anything to the losers there..lerrrr...but takper besok i will bungkus kan for his assistant.
this cake , very interesting..it uses vinegar...i have never made it and have never tasted it before..not bad lah...sedap..sarah was so into licking the batter. sampai nak amik sudu and eat the batter like that until i stopped her..which she then proceeded to just sticking her fingers in the batter and licking it. must have freaked sarina out sebab i heard sarina yelling at her..but bila masak jer..sarah tak nak makan pulak..she just licked the cream cheese frosting...itu pun the frosting, i kurang kan the gula..kalau ikut the original recipe..boleh berterabur gigi because it is so sweet. anyway..with me in the mood to experiment with stuff like these kan..macam mana lah nak diet...hahahahaa
bila dah taruk frosting..sarina nak tabur sprinkles lagi..i said no need..enough sugar as it is..furthermore..i tak tau mana i dah taruk itu sprinkles..my stuff is still all over the place..some are still in the tubs in the garage. dia nak taruk cocoa podar lah...no need lah sarina...in the end..she ate only half the cake..she said that to her the frosting is not sweet enough..sean ate 2 and said he better stop..heheheh.
sri, kalau you tinggal dekat..boleh i hantar separuh to you and kak za..kak za, kalau you jadi neighbour i..hehehe..you can be macam sean..jadi i nyer guinea pig..ni i dah takder kawan kat sini, dah takde lah ppl yang tolong kasi habis the stuff that i make...dah nak kena bela ayam...hahahahahha..imagine..kat reban ayam..berlambak2 kek kaler merah tergolek2...hahahahah....
look at furby..dah besar dah dia..dulu kecik jer..can fit into one hand..now dah besar..dah nak jadi bujang dah..nak cepat2 hantar kat vet..but vet kat sini busy..tadi call can only come in next mth. mintak2..in the interim..takder lah accident dia dengan sparky..hehehee.
okaylah..i realise that now, i am no longer on holiday..so have to get back to work. dah unpack dah seme beg2 and have more or less picked up the whole house. then have to the bills and all that. agak2 bila lah boleh hidup without bills coming to us eh..kan ker best kalau camtu..hehehe.
on the upside, we found out that we can have chickens in our backyard..but i am not sure if our neighbours will like it. they have cages too kat belakang but they keep their noisy dogs..ada yang besar nyer but mostly i found the smaller dogs lah yang paling banyak buat bising..sukak my back door jer bark...bukak tingkap i jer bark...my cat lompat kat tingkap..bark...hai..tak habis...anyway, still mulling on that idea..i think we will do it only when we buy this house and then build the fence around our property...
also, dah pakat with kak za nak diet kan...but alamak..i got these new cookbooks that i am wanting to try most of the recipes. those books are all on baking..and then tuari i was watching food tv..got this gorgeous red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting..dah nak kena buat dah ni..so like this how to loose weight..actually, i mmg tak suka sangat eat this sort of things..so not too bad for me..but for sean lah. i suruh dia bawak gi tempat kerje dia sudahlah..sedekah kasi makan eh..hahahahhaa...
i think my main problem lies with the fact that i like rice and nak nak kalau masak luk pedas2...i cannot stop eating..but now can cut back lah..trying to limit my rice intake. exercise...need to get into a routine lah..so we will see how all this goes eh..anyway...stuff to think about .
sarina is still like that. last night, instead of taruk tilam separately, she decided that sarah and her will sleep on the tilam together..suka hati lah nak...hopefully by next week, we will get their bunk beds. that way, dah tak payah nak tarik tilam every night.
actually...there is no scary stories..scary stories for me comes in the form of bills..hahaha. anyway, here are some pictures that i took at the witch dungeon museum. ingatkan it was at the original place..but no..they moved it and the only artifact that they have from the original dungeon was this piece of wood...alamak...but never mind..dah terlanjur kat situ..might as well. didn't know that there were several other museums and shows like these..kalau tau mmg buat research dulu lah.. but still it was informative jugak. a bit creepy jugak lah the dungeon kat bawah tu.. like i said before..sarah dah mmg takut. she never did like any dark corridor ker cave ker..pergi kat this aquarium both in vegas and tulsa, dia tak nak masuk seh...she closed her eyes..ni apa lagi with all those figures kan..heh. sarina lah konon nyer berani..

actually this entry pun pasal sarina lah...she is still visibly afraid of the dark. it comes and goes with her..dulu2..tak sangat but since she is getting older..makin menjadi2 pulak imagination dia. tulah..saper tah suruh dia gi nengok those video kat you tube...first night balik..ada ker dia kata there was a person standing by the window...dah i kena investigate...mak dia ni pun mmg lah berani orang dia kan..hahahaha...but what i discovered and how i understood my late mother nyer statement...to make sure that i am not further frightened, she herself has to pretend that she is not afraid..ni lah dulu2..time baru beli rumah kampung kat kota tinggi...kiter dua orang jer..so it was late when we got there and i heard something macam bende besar kat luar rumah...it was probably an elephant sebab time tu kan, mmg belum ada pagar and all that and still cam hutan kat belakang rumah tu.

anyway, i was worried but she looked cool jer and thus i felt better. so in this manner..i kena buat jugak lah camtu..nak suruh sean..ada kan budak ni kena berleter...maklumlah bapak ni scientific minded...pergi dekat the armoury , he toldme later that after MM dah takder..diorang boleh ketawa2 kat situ..hehehe. so berbalik to sarina...she has to sleep with the lights on..so semalam sean put his foot down..when i went in to check on then..sarina tido betul betul next to sarah. sarah pulak yang tak takut..maybe not yet eh..sarah kan..dalam gelap, if she is not sleepy..she will play with her toys..baca buku dalam gelap...lantaklah nak..cuma yang tak tahan is when she gets up everytime to find a cat..tu yang alamak..i can see her crawling out of her room...alamak teringat citer JU ON...hahahahha...

ni kira the gallows...where the ones found guilty were hanged. ni lah yang sarah melalak..tak nak jalan so sean had to carry her. this was one of the last display..manalah dia tak melalak..i pun terkejut jugak when i came to this area..hehe

at the thai restaurant in the museum mall...tak amik gambar makanan sebab it was so so..hehehe...the other thai restaurant sempat amik satu jer..but the rest i dah bedal dulu so tak sempat nak amik gambar :)
so now..citer seram jer sarina dah tak boleh nengok..i halau dia go to her room...but degil nak nengok jugak..citer CSI dah kena ban when she is around, same goes for some of the law and order nyer episodes. actually kan...i basement rumah kak za, mmg kalau boleh kalau dah malam jer i tak nak turun....hahahhahaha..kan i dah bilang i ni berani :) so one time kena turun jugak time malam2..i ajak sarina teman i but have to be dubious sikit..i ekxyen mintak tolong dia..hahahha..so she tak suspek mak dia pun sama jugak macam dia..hahahahahahahahahaha....
after that we went to nahant. beautiful place..but the ppl living there tak kasi ppl park sebarangan..ni yang boring ni..sebab the place is very beautiful..yelah kereta parking banyak kan..so diorang pun boring jugak..but to make this a private place..mmg tak aci lah..
it was very very cold tau..MM dengan i jer keluar amik gambar..i amik gambar main snap snap jer..jari dah kaku dah..sean tak keluar sebab kalau kena harass dengan sesapa kiter boleh buat a quick getaway..haha

well, we have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves during our stay with the ciccotellis in westport. best tinggal kat situ. the seafood...oohh..the fish and chips...alamak...the calamari...haii..tadikan on our way home from the pharmacy, teringat pulak the fish and chips i had at vel's and fanizzi's...tekak ni pulak cam nak makan fish and chips..but pikir2 balik..kat sini takder lah ada tempat nak lawan the fish and chips over there...it is all so fresh..
snow were coming down on the second day of our trip. this is the mountain route through the Pennsylvania's mountains..it was beautiful.
second day...kiter pergi explore salem...dengan mat melayu :) he has two adoring fans kat sini tau..hehe. tadi time amik sarah from school...she kept talking about you tau MM. she was talking about your handphone lah..your camera lah...and something about a boy and no girl...i pun tak paham apa yang dia cakap..but i think dia dah bercampur aduk with the story in school and you lah..hahhaha. anyway, second day pergi salem kan..sean apa lagi...ada orang baru kat dalam kereta..i thought he would be driving ermmm...conservatively kan..oh tidak...dia buat hal dia jugak...but takper..MM like you said..balik singapore...kiter kena tunjuk kan dia the power of VTech singapore style. the funny thing kan..time gi kat the witch museum..the girls tak nak duduk dengan kiter langsung lah...you all know kan where they want to sit...
dinner at vel's...sarah created an impression on the ppl around the table..first she farted..kuat pulak tu..then she burped...like kak za cakap..she dropped a bomb..hehehe

then turun kat bawah...sarah dah takut..well..the patung2 pun kira menakut kan..then pergi kat last cell...they put a live person there but pakai make up seme lah..ah kau..terpekik i kejaps...hahahha. sarina was trying to tell me dengan penuh perasaan that the person will jump us..i pulak..tak paham betul what she was trying to tell me..sebab sarah tengah melalak kan...tu yang the lady bangun tu..MM bilang kat i later..sarina was quiet when that happened..but when she was outside..wahhh..she was grumbling habis lah...hehe. anyway, we had lunch at this thai restaurant...hmmm..not that great lah but dah lapar nyer pasal..makan ajer lah :) i beli one vintage coat..vintage ni kira second hand :) lawa..nak kena repair sikit jer and bought another winter coat from the army surplus nyer store...gedebak gedebuk...dah gelap so balik lah kiter. next year insyallah, nak pergi jugak lah nengok the USS Constitution..kira the oldest ship that is still in commission.
lawa kan lotus farm in late fall....it was a beautiful day..everything was so vibrant..the late fall colours really stood out :)
the next day..went to provincetown...then pergi new bedford and ate at the best thai restaurant ever..well in the US lah for us..hahha...then thanksgiving day...tolong tolong chop veges and peel the veges...buat stuffing...then mencekik sampai midnight..hahahha...kak za..kalau kiter tinggal dekat2 kan. habislah kiter dua orang..midnight2 pun boleh makan nasi turkey lagi and don't forget the pies :) the following day kiter gi plymouth..last minute shopping after that..sempat pulak i boring kat sean..hahahha. kak za cakap , jangan lah gaduh time kat westport, balik nanti boleh gaduh..i told kak za...hai kak za...kalau nak gaduh ni kan..tak kira bulan baik ker tidak lah..kalau mood i datang kan..siaplah...hahahahahha...we went to victoria secrets..beli lah bende2 for myself...sarah asked me something..belum sempat jawab..sisarina pulak menyampuk..sarah..leave mommy alone..you know how she is when she goes panty shopping...lerrrr budak ni...bapak dia dah ketawa berdekah2...

then came saturday....we lounged around kat rumah. best :) anyway, kiter buat soto bakso. yelah kak za..banyak kiter plan nak masak kan..but apa boleh buat...we can only eat so much kan..hahahha...malam tu went to walmart..bought sweatpants and sweatshirt for me..sweatpants for sarina and sean found his stuff for the ipod in the car.

then came sunday...kira almost macam kelam kabut jugak lah eh i ni kak za..hahha. cam tak menyempat gitu..but honestly....kalau i tak buat camtu..nanti kan..jadi drama sedih pulak lah...melalak like last year..ni kalau melalak kat dalam kereta takper orang tak nampak..hehehe...but sad lah..if only we live nearer..boleh kiter exercise bersama...makan bersama...the girls can help you with the animals..nak nak sarina..boleh lah harap jugak :) all in all, it is always an educational visit for them bila pergi kat barn :) always ada new animals kan...hehe..okaylah..i dah nak gi makan dinner ni..ni gambar sikit jer dulu...and also a video sarah and sarina buat..directed by sarina. anyway, for more pictures, please go here.

ni while all is outside and at work..i can update sikit eh..hehe. it took us about 2 days to reach here. would have made in one if the drive through Pennsylvania did not hamper us. it was snowing and a bit slick going up through the mountains..but we made it here. driving through Connecticut was a hair pulling exp sebab the speed limit was about 50-55 miles per hour. we didn't get here till like almost 4.00 pm..but we made it. malam tu jugak went to this restaurant...you know how it is..our eyes are bigger than our stomach..all i can think of is fish and chips...and what can i say..am not dissappointed lah :) will see if i can upload my pictures here eh...
what can we say...hahahha...i always loved it here. main masak2 with kak za and the company. yelah..masak kat rumah lain kan..masak kat rumah orang lain..so hopefully kak za and family enjoyed it.
we took MM, kak za nyer cousin around with us..hehehe...experiencing sean nyer rally type driving..serik agaknyer dia.. :P the girls are having a blast. main dengan anak kucing sampai kak za cakap lunyai sehhhh...i pulak...wahh...apa lagi tak ingat lain lah..asyik makan, makan, makan..tu jer keje i..nak shopping2 pun it is the same there as over here so no need lah..ingat kan nak beli jeans ker apa..but having to think about going to the mall...nak kena try itu and ini...no need lah eh :) i pakai my exercise pants lagi bagus..seluar with elastic band...haha..very comfy.
we went to salem nyer witch's museum...two days ago and yesterday we went to provincetown..nak pergi the pilgrim museum but tutop pulak...winter lah kata kan. we went to the same restaurant that we had gone two last year and it was the same waiter that served us before..loved that place. a restaurant by the beach..then sean drove home after that..kat sini it gets dark a lot earlier. pukul 4.30 pm jer dah gelap lah..it is so cold..nak nak yesterday by the beach. today was not so bad..just went to have lunch at this thai restaurant and went grocery shopping for some stuff. we went to new bedford and took the scenic way home..lusa nak pergi check out itu tempat as well as plymouth.
malam ni i buat potato soup jer..nak buat kari ayam tak menjadi..so hentam sajerlah...hopefully the soup turns out okay eh..hahahahhahah...okaylah..better go and check out on the soup...besok thanksgiving kan :) nak nengok john make his turkey..hahah...i buat chap chai jer :)
okay..one more day to go..yipppeee! tomorrow night we'll be leaving for lawrence and then on to our journey east. actually..i am not sure if i want to go up tomorrow to lawrence but that would shave off 3 hours of our journey. but we'll see. it all depends on how we feel tomorrow night i guess. but then again..it will be good if we could go and see sean's parents, for it is his father's birthday today and so we can give him his present the same time too...but we'll see.
anyway....the bags are all packed. the girls jer belum but i have set aside their clothes. tonight we'll be going to saline to get some stuff for the cats and i guess that is it. besok i'll have to go to the post office to stop mail and mail stuff off and the works lah kira. but all is well..hehe.
see..no socks..kepo betul lah..but that night was so clear..we saw a few shooting stars :)
the other night..sean went out and i was just surfing..biasalah...for some reason i was bored..he wanted me to look at something..he wanted me to look at comet holmes that is in the sky right now. so got to see that, and ingatkan the kids dah tido but nope..kepo seh they all..so sarina came out in her robe and no socks..then i saw a dark shadow against the screen door..siapa lagilah..sisarah..she laso came out..no shoes and socks and robe..but she kebal..can stand the cold.
ni ah..after i brought her in to tuck her in bed. nampak tu belakang langsir yang canggih...my fitted bedsheets , buat temp nyer langsir..hahahahhaha. see..told you i am not a good housekeeper..hahaha
so semalam, tekak ni nak makan kek lagi..so buat lah. i made double batch. yummms! anything else that happened yesterday...nothing much really..i just stayed at home..masak pot roast..alamak..sarina ni kan mmg selalu mintak kena berleterlah..nak buat hot chocolate lah..nak buat ini lah..the berserak lepas tu..ishhh...and then all that ruckus...disturbing my 'wa' lah..hehehe.
nengok tu..betapa gebu nyer the cake batter..ni seme keje ovalette and the eggs and the sugar...
i got like 3 batches..actually kalau i pakai the same cookie sheet, i can get 4..but pasal i ni mmg malas sikit, main amik shortcut jer..i got 3 cakes.
she was hovering nearby as i was making the cake..nak tolong ni lah nak tolong tu lah..alamak...ruper2 nyer she was waiting for the spatula..she likes the vanilla flavour..she said tastes like cream. she did not like the chocolate batter.
wahhhh..agaknyer begitu sedapnyer the spatula...so engrossed in what she's doing..
ni ah...after she is done licking the spatula...best agaknyer...apa lagi nengok spongebob lah tu..

the final product...ni kira yang tepi tepi dia that i trimmed. sarina came home and finished all that you see up there. terkejut japs i..ahhh..dah habis..hehe. clearly she loves this cake too :)
this is thing...he has no more teeth with the exception of the small front ones. all the fangs and the molars are gone. this cat will follow wherever i go. he was watching me the whole time i was working in the kitchen :)
anyway, sarina ni kan..ada jer project dia lah. tak nampak ker mak dia ni tengah sebok blogging..hahha....and sarah..i can't believe it..she went to the bathroom bringing sparky, the cat with her. she asked me if i would save sparky for her..kira hold the cat while she does something else lah kan..i said no. ni kucing ni nak berak, makan tido pun tak senang. sarah will pick her up and hold her until i have to tell her to let that cat go. so she just came out of the bathroom..going 'oh hunny, i love you'..alamak...mana dia dengar honey honey ni...hahhaa...setau i sean and i never use any terms of endearment..to show our terms of endearment..biasanyer you will hear me saying..' shut the hell up'...hehehehhe....and vice versa..hahahaha
oh oh another funny story before i forget....last weekend we went to lawrence first right...so had to stop and have dinner there at the med cafe. anyway, biasalah sean bawak kereta..cam camel high trophy gitu..going around the curves as fast as he could...so sarina..said the her seatbelt was cusing her discomfort and said 'ouch!' a few times... sean then said, that there is nothing for her to be 'ouch-ing' for lah kan..sarah the interrupted that when ppl are in pain they say ouch ...to which sarina replied...'sarah..daddy doesn't say ouh..he says 'Dammit!'...hahahahahha...at that time we were already getting out of the car and going through the door when sarah wanted to repeat what sarina had said' yeah sarina daddy say D-'..and i interrupted her just at that precise moment to tell her to not say that word...hehehehhee. you know..if anyone of you had watched a christmas story...remember the father..that character is exactly like sean :)
anyway..i will be gone for a week or so..and till then..toodles everyone :) have a great hols and weekend :)

this is the rocktown rocks..hehe. can see that looooonggg time ago, kansas was under water. depending on who you ask, they will say 6000 years ago..while others will say millions and millions of year ago :)
ni pulak, sarina climb to the topmost..she lobes going up and down that thing. cam citer kung fu pulak eh cara dia posing...entah2 cam practice tai chi..hahahahaa
this is like the prize that we get for hiking on this trail. whole trail is about 3.7 miles long with upward hills and downward slopes..makes hiking more interesting :)
well...tengah happy2..ader jer news yang tak menghappykan..so what the heck..come what may lah..we'll see where the wind blows. anyway, on a happier note, i was looking through these pictures on cd that was given by cindy. kinda sad jugak lah..sad because i miss them i guess. but also, this cd are full of pictures which is actually a form of record keeping of the girls for the past four years. sarah and clara were born in hiawatha a month apart, while sarina and naomi started pre-school up to the first mth of 3rd grade together. they spent all their time together. anyway, i thought these pictures are funny. will definitely post more to show the time line later in the future :)

*sigh*....tempus fugit..time flies. our attorney just emailed. the trustee has extended the stay on our case..lahhhhhhhh..boring nyer. can they just like make a decision..all these mths of waiting..ishhhhh..i just want it to be done..hehee...alamak..terserious japs :) but takper lah..insyallah, whatever happens it is for the best. so we will see. but like i said..these pictures are hilarious. i am glad that one of us are good at taking pictures when the opportunity arises..hahaahha.

been trying it out. so far so good lah..i just use the auto nyer setting. but am trying to read through the manual on the other stuff as well. now need to just get a macro lens. i pun tak sure apa itu macro lens..but from what sean told me..it will allow me to do more close ups than just what i have right now :) but that can wait lah eh..hehe. actually the photographer in the house is sean. he was in a photography club and won some competition when he was in school. but now i think he is into astronomy. we got one on ebay for half the price but it is just the basics. insyallah sometimes in the future he would like to get the one that is computerised.
anyway, here is my handiwork. i am having a bit of a problem trying to resize the pictures. i need my photoshop elements..but tertinggal pulak kat hiawatha. this one her that i have is HP Premiere..which is okay if you have a smaller image file. but for this one..alamak..dah resize pun still too big. so nak tak nak have to use an online nyer site. which is okay but wayy slow lah :) but then bende free so tak leh lah complain banyak2 kan :) so here it is :) more pictures are available here. :)

bila dah taruk frosting..sarina nak tabur sprinkles lagi..i said no need..enough sugar as it is..furthermore..i tak tau mana i dah taruk itu sprinkles..my stuff is still all over the place..some are still in the tubs in the garage. dia nak taruk cocoa podar lah...no need lah sarina...in the end..she ate only half the cake..she said that to her the frosting is not sweet enough..sean ate 2 and said he better stop..heheheh.
