shape tu..it is debatable...hahahha. okay ni kira tak puas hati nyer pasal kan..so i made another batch using a diff. recipe. got it from sweets and well, what can i say..i love this one more than the other, not just in how they turn out, but because of the taste too. so lemony and yummy. and you know, if kuih baulu kita, we put a bit of lemon zest in it, it will definitely be scrumptious too. even the shape looks like the pattern from the kuih baulu :) sarina didn't like the taste. for some reason she doesn't like any lemony flavour in any of her desserts. well nothing much about the recipe..easy to follow and upon reading it once, i see that there's no baking powder used..so was it light and airy..but like sweets suggested, i used about a teaspoon of ovalette..courtesy of cik sriberry eh..baik hati dia...hantar i 3 tubs of it :) takper sri..ni i makan kan untuk you okay..hehehehe. and also, sweets betul cakap you, about the mold. there were two kinds at this place where i got mine. one was half the price of the other and the more expensive one being made in france. i now know why it is pricier...because it is such a good pan. but like you, i bought only one ajerlah..but i bet i can use this pan to make other kinds of cakey cookies eh..hehehhee. sarah just came in to say that she loves the madeleines...i think she has eaten like 4 or 5 of them..there goes her lunch...

Pakai telur banyak tak? Boleh buat hari raya. Macam baulu jugak. How many days can you keep eh? very nice!! I actually tak minat baulu. Tapi kalau sedap, apa salah nya!! hehehe...telur banyak ni!

kak za..this one..i made only say 21 pieces and it uses 2 eggs. yang recipe kat bawah tu..pakai 4 eggs. tahan jugaklah..maybe for up to a week or so..sebab this one pakai butter, so maybe tak boleh tahan selama baulu kita :) berbualn simpan in air tight container, pun masih sedap..hehe..albeit keras sikit jer lah :) kalau you ada telur banyak..buat aiskrim lah kak za..i will try buat home made nyer eh..and kalau jadi i kasi you the resepi :) insyallah :)

Yea, the French-made molds are somehow more expensive... must be the quality. Tak tahu lah kalau China-made ones are as good - so far belum nampak. Very hard to find these pans here. Silicon nyer ada, but that lady said better to use metal ones, kalau tak, tak garing. So I'm glad you got the metal one - is a good investment.
I ingat nak order the mini ones online. Boleh buat brownies in these too :) or other cakes. For hari raya will be very convenient, tak payah nak potong2 cake. The regular ones that you have, i rasa macam a bit too big for raya servings... but still can lah, just not bite size. our visitors will have to eat more *hehehe*
oh, sarina doesn't like lemony stuff? the website commentors said you can leave out the lemon rind and it will still taste great. next time boleh try, ye.

salams faisal :) the taste for the ones below is nice..but the texture not so great. very heavy..kinda cakey for my liking :) and yes..lemon is not as tart as lime.
sweets..yup..like you, i was like, how can i fail at such a simple recipe and not only that it doesn't taste as great. this is one of francois payard's nyer recipe..lantaklah how i spell the name..hahhaa. yes, menjadi..i add about a tsp of ovalette and you know what..with ovalette, it didn't take long for the egg mixture to become thick. and it hold it's shape better too :) i know..sean said, next time if i have to replace any pans, it pays to part with that extra bucks, just because it lasts longer and it works. i do not need to butter the pan too much..and i just terbalikan the pan and out comes the stuff..hehe. yeah sarina for some reason do not care much for any thing lemony but she loves lemonade though..hmmmm :) i am sure, if we were to leave out the lemon zest..it will taste like kuih baulu original :)

Skrg baulu pun ada macam2 flavour tau... i love those yg ada choc-rice in them. The pandan flavoured ones also not bad.
