well, winter arrived two days ago. from a nice warm fall, the temp suddenly plunged into the negatives. yesterday, the temp was -10 celscius but when you add the windchill factor of -25 degrees celsius..you can bet that it's very2 cold. brrrr.. but funny enough though..there was no snow. there was a bit of sleet and slight flurry and that's that. i walked to the post office to mail off stuff and the wind was horrible. had to walk behind buildings to protect me from the cold winds.
this morning we , that is sarina , sarah and i walked to school. normally i would wear my hat, which would protect my ears. this morning however, i didn't wear it . was somewhat late for the math club meeting. see, i volunteered to help the 3rd and 4th grade kids playing math games. i volunteered, to see what i could play with sarina to improve her math skills. at least something i could do with her. anyway, the wind was so cold, that my ears were hurting. all i could think off is what would happen if i had frostbite..hehe. but doubt it. after we finished the meeting, the weather seems to warm up a bit. well the temp is still -10 but since the sun was shining, it was not so bad. it was actually very nice.
i got a new cookbook. recipes from lebanon,turkey and morocco. all because we went to wichita this past weekend and we stumbled upon the turkish cafe called cafe istanbul. i had chicken kebabs with bulghur and white rice with the hummus and sean had the gyros and there was the salad and soup...just talking about it makes my mouth water. the chef is a turkish while the wife is a german lady. she was very nice. she said that sara looked like her grandaughter. her daughter married a guy from laotia.
wonder when we will be going back there..yummms! so that is why i got myself a cookbook from that region. most of the mediterranean cook books here concentrates on greek food. don't get me wrong..greek food is fine but it is not the same as say food from turkey or jordan . but still i miss the hawker centre food from home lah...this evening i found this online site and guess what...they sell twisties...wahhhh..i went mouse clicking crazy. found this site by accident really. all because i was looking for maggi curry. all the sites that i went to dah habis lah. sib baik this place ada..terubat jugak tekak ni..hahah. ni nanti nak email this place to order some keropok from terengganu lah..hehehe. leh jual kat sini eh :) okaylah...nanti nanti i will citer about the accident that we saw right in front of us while driving in wichita.

I thot of posting u the wichita funny incident,,but i just brief it here lah eh..a failed robbery nyer cita..kekek..he was trying to snatch an earphone from a teen but failed..what was worse,he shot his own testicles while trying to pocket back his pistol in the pants as the trigger got stuck somewhere in between..kekekeke...He and an accomplice tried to shoot this to be victim but strayed hence the latter was safe.
Yg tambah nyer kelakar lagik,i think out of panick,he gave another shot to the tak jadik victim,tertembak sdiri pulak his own shoulder..camana nak curi betul2?...kesian kan..sib baik org ramai tak ketawakan ramai2 kat diorang...kekekke..apa dahhh..sekian..berita..

nissa..best tau kalau tertido kat leberi ni. nak nak kat gazebo dia..fuuuhh...boleh bawak berdengkur. itu lah sisarah. sarina is in school most of the time and rambut sarina bak kata my mom..cam ppompuan tak betul..hehehe. her hair is so messy. nak nak rambut depan dia. time nak gi sekolah adalah i ikat cantik2..dia pulak bila balik..sepit rambut kemana, getah rambut kemana. dah lah tu..rambut panjang..malas pulak nak brush..ada kan i potong rambut dia cam sarah. but she pulak tak nak..
and yes..i ngaji dulu dengan my mak long..long munah...and mmg suka ponteng..haha..but tak leh lah ponteng selalu sebab she will call my mother lah..one time tu lah kena tangkap . she called my mom up..balik jer my mom tanyer..beralih ke tidak and i said tak..and told her that ramai budak that time sebab tu lambat balik..apa lagi..oh ramai budak eh...pap..kena pukul kita 3 beradik..heheheh. nanti kalau snow tebal..i will buat air batu kacang eh..hehe..sedap nyer :)

Bestnyer dah winter. I like the cold tapi my wife and kids tak suka. I still remember in Istanbul dulu bila I jalan macam hari tak sejuk gitu when everyone else termasuk the locals dah berkot-kot and yang ada pakai gloves. They look at me macam I ni sewel gitu, lebih-lebih lagi bila I sengih aje look back at them.
Mona, as they always say, "Anuthing can happen in Bollywood". Jadi, tak surpriselah kalau the actress tak sejuk, atau they can dance on a moving train or tak mati kena bom ala Tom & Jerry cartoon gitu.
I hate winter, esp in the northeast, it's terrible...!! My nose bleeds, my skin cracks, and I gain weight. Not sure about midwest, but I think you guys get it just as bad, right - the weather lah, not the personal stuff :) Fortunately there were those bldgs :) boleh jugak avoid those winds. As for my experience, there was a snowstorm when I was in Jersey and I nie nak kata bodoh or terror pun tak tahu lah, went out and the wind was blowing really really hard, it almost picked me off my feet. Fortunately there was a big van I took shelter behind it for a while... then another time, drove thru the snowstorm. was actually quite beautiful. but really dangerous...! alhamdullillah nothing happened.

kat sini pun dah start sejuk but so far its just been windy, raining and sunny... friday, saturday, the weather wasn't too bad only sunday it started to rain and angin kencang... syiok jusy lay under the duvet and not do anything... hee hee!!!

anyway, tul tu kak za..winter attire can really hide all our babats :) sebab tu i love it in some ways. but the cold tak tahan lah. sarah now has bloody nose a lot due to the dry air. i pun tak baca the story. until sri citer kat sini..hehe
mona, i dunno eh kalau cold air cam encourage semput. sebab the air is dry..tak tau pulak..yang i tau if you have athritis..tu yang teruk tu. siaplah the joints bisa2.
as for the heroine hindustan joget2 kat snow..nampak cam best..but sejuk tak boleh tahan ..and the soggy feeling..hehe. but takper..they all kan dapat duit ribu2 or juta2...jalau i pun maybe i would do it..but not in mini dress lah ah..hahahaha
yaslam..hahaha...ah ah eh..joget atas keretapi :) there are a lot pf ppl that are like that over here. they young ones lah..teenagers ..they can wear shorts some more. unlike me..siap dengan coat and gloves and hat..kalau boleh nak pakai boot yang berlapis..kalau lah ada pants yang ada insulation lagi best.
hatini..same here, winter here can be as bad. but very seldom. we hardly get any snow. this is due to global warming. i remember when i first got here, thanksgiving jer dah snow tebal. these past few years, it's like very mild gitu. but wind chill toksah cakap. and yep..the skin cracks, pastu dah lah crack..can itch somemore. nose bleeds..leceh jugaklah..hehe..tu lah sib baik ada building yang boleh i buat tumpang berteduh...betul lah you ni terrer abis. angin kencang pun masih keluar jugak :) as for the recipes..yes will definitely do it. i tried it last sat and the rice and bulghur were a hit :) but best of all was the sheperds salad..yummms! i can eat that on it's own.

anyway, i love the cold weather, autumn particularly, my skins becomes very healthy at such weather.. pastu bleh tarik duvet sampai idung... tengok snow trurn kat tepi tingkap.. sambil jiwang2 karat... i can never do that anymore nowadays... arrrggghhh.. miss those days.. pastu minum hot choc.. pastu buat snowman.. pastu kena demam sesema.. flu.. pastu .. hehehe.. macam blog i pulak nak bercerita nostalgia..
