happy 2008 everybody :)

well..2008 will be here soon. sean remembered the time that i paged for him 10 years ago...hehe..even i do not remember that. he recalled that in singapore it was already 1998, while they were still in 1997. i paged for him and he was at this guy called kevin's place and then he called me after that...as you can see, in this house, he is the one who remembers dates and events..i have to admit that i do not remember stuff like that :) and i guess, at this time, sean and i were talking on the phone and but we weren't that serious..hehehhe..a bit of history there eh? hahaha!

this picture was taken last thursday. it was frosty and i noticed that the ice was kinda interesting looking. so i took some pictures of it.

anyway, i remembered that at this time last year, kak za and i were bbq-ing, satay and chicken wings. this time..here i am sitting in front of the pc. the girls are watching futurama while sean is somewhere in the house.

made this daging masak kichap last night. tekak nak makan pulak...have a little bit left..saving it for sean's snack later tonight..hehehe

we were gone for the weekend. we went up to hiawatha, to finish some more stuff and well, we didn't get all of it. so we decided to get some moving company, namely, a company owned by a friend of ours and just let him deal with the odds and ends. and that will be the end of it. next round will be getting the rest of the stuff down here. sean is thinking of holding an auction..selling all the stuff that we do not need..i am not sure though. the stuff that we have are the ones that i would like to have..well, not all. so we'll see.

trying to eat healthier...so saw these beautiful oranges at sam's club. an 8lb bag for like $7.00..and the oranges are huge...

anyway, we got invited up in kansas city for dinner cum new year's celebrations lah..but sean turned it down because there would be ppl that doesn't know there..how many ppl you say?..only 2..yep..he didn't know this couple and he decided that he didn't want to go. if it was only the akimoto's he wouldn't mind. but we will go up and see them soon. his wife will be delivering soon. the last time i saw them, she was like only a mth along..hehe.

made this crepe with chantilly cream and fresh raspberries and blackberries for breakfast this morning. topped it with powdered sugar and honey :) sean and the girls loved it..i don't care much for it. give me epok2 anytime..hehe

so we went hiking instead. we went to our fav trail and man walking in the snow was hard. it's like walking in the sand, but not wet sand..walk on dry sand and you're like on uneven ground. the snow was like a foot deep in sone areas. the wind was blowing so it was cold, but as we progressed, it got warmer and warmer....since we're exerting ourselves, we do feel warm and actually perspire underneath the heavy coats. we were doing alright, but sarah help us up.

ye lah...baru2 start kan..so tons of energy..they started running..but by the time we had to turn back..sarina was still full of energy..she ran most times..sarah had to perch on sean's shoulders..hehe

first, all she wanted to do was play in the snow...she wanted to roll around and lie down and slide and all that. then she got tired of walking..well, it's all because of her boots. we forgot to bring back her boots with us when we went up to see the vidans. and i found brought a pair of new boots meant for sarina when we went up to mass last year..it's like way big for her, but we figured that it would be much better than having her walking in her sneakers. it went fine until, she kept falling, because she was 'tired'...or so she told us. when she fell..instead of getting back up..you can see her playing with the snow..

then sarina asked if we brought water along..i said no..because it's cold..she said that she was thirsty and i told her to juat eat the snow. so all along the way..i see both of them stopping, just to pick up a block of snow and eating them..lerrr...anyway, daddy went ahead of us and i had to walk slowly to keep the slow poke company. we walked like almost part way of the trail, when i decided that i's better turn back with sarah...good thing that i turned back, because by the time we were quarter way back to the car, sarah was on sean's shoulders..hahaha..she couldn't walk she said.

all i can say is this, the walk back up the gradual slope was pure torture. all i could do was to just keep walking on the tracks made by us before...it was the hardest trek ever for this year. the only time i remembered feeling that way, was the hike in saipan on a muddy trail. i was so ready to just sit there and not move again. my legs were burning and i wish the car was that much closer to us..hahha...but it was a good hike. we needed the exercise anyway. on our way in i saw parts of the lake that was frozen..so told sean if we could go there to take some pictures. he took me there and it was gorgeous. we also discovered different trails that leads to more nooks and crannies that needed exploring next year.

well..that was what we did today and tomorrow, we need to go to salina to buy more cat litter and probably go hike on a trail there. the trail would not be so packed with snow though..because this is a trail within the city limits. so we'll see how it looks like. for more picture, you guys know where to go :) and with that, would like to wish all of you a great and properous year ahead :) insyallah..
