the poor ultima...kesian die..we abused this car for almost 10 years now..haha. put close to 200,000 miles on it..been everywhere with us..tu lah..the box up there helping us with the move..so now it can relax a bit :)
the fallen branches..there and the side of the house and all around us lah..look at the power line with the icicles on it..sean balik semalam he cleaned it up a bit so that the line will not fall.

anyway, sean came back monday night and said that it was ugly outside..it was slippery and cold..it was, and it was raining..slow steady drizzle, mixed with ice. the whole night again, like i said, power surging going on..and then first thing in the morning sarina was woken up by the sound of broken branches. the whole day we hear nothing, well, except for a few trucks here and there, there was nothing else but the sound of snapping branches. you hear this ripping sound and a loud crash. lucky for this house, the trees that had fallen branches are all in the back. it fell on the boat and lucky also that sean parked the ultima nearer to the house and not under the tree. i heard that up in NE kansas, in fact the whole state in in this winter storm warning..and if this were to happen in hiawatha..the branches would be falling right on top of the house..so another blessing that we moved i guess.
isn't it pretty :) i simply love the icy weather..but not loving the cold and the danger that it poses..
they look like spider legs don't they? sarina took a couple of them and put them in the freezer..but then the power went out and she was worried that her icicles will melt..hehe..see i told you she collects everything and anything..

there is no school again today..maybe tomorrow they will be back. but we'll see..it is not as nasty out there today as yesterday..but it is still icy all over the place. sarina went to get the mail yesterday, and she slipped..but she said that there is this beautiful tree by the mailbox that would make a lovely picture ( ahhh..a girl after my own heart..hahhaha) and that i should take a picture of it. i said we will see..she then proceeded to ask me if she could take the camera and take pictures of it..after she had slipped while retrieving the mail..uh uh..nope. she is also suffering from the sniffles..and well, being a hypochondriac herself..she wanted to self medicate...alamak..i told her no..i will give what she needed to her lah...
all the trees are covered with ice that is thicker than in the pictures that i took last saturday.
they look pretty but they are heavy...poor trees though..kesian nengok..
since no power and what lah kan...projek gunting rambut came into mind...well, the bangs anyway..so i cut the girls nyer bangs lah..sarina's turned out okay sebab she tak fussy..but i butchered sarah's. sib baik lah she is at the age that she doesn't really care or know that it is not very nice looking, but she did say that sarina will laugh at her and say that she looks weird..hahah...ahhh...the joy of having a sibling :)
this is my fav picture..in warmer weather..there will be this huge spider web on our awning. the spider itself is a big garden spider..and i looked out the window to see if it was still there..well parts of it anyway and see how strong the spider web is :)
anyway, the weather report say that the midwest's weather woes in now over and it is heading for the NE..well kak za and kak nor..the bad weather is on the way there..hopefully by the time it reaches you...the force has somewhat died down lah eh..if not i cannot fathom the damage that it will do to you guys over there...sebab as it is..it is so much colder there than here...take care and stay warm..cik zee...how is the sunny florida..hehee...aren't you glad that you are missing all this cold weather :P as usual more pics at multiply.

as you all know this is furby, i love furby...my first ever long-haired cat.....hehe..first time dapat amik gambar dia sitting like that..kalau tak asyik lepak kat lantai...he turned out to be a very entertaining cat..more like a dog i say sebab he will chew on everything..and i mean everything....at the corners of my book, i can see tiny bite marks..hahhha.. so umi..do you want one? you can either have sparky or furby..but not mr. b..hehee

Well, alhamdulillah you and family are safe. Saw the news on how bad some areas were especially broken limbs of trees or trees itself damaging properties. Oh, my son pun suka collect those icicles and save them in the fridge and he will save the snow in a container too. We still have a small ball of last year's snow in the fridge and soon he will take them out. Thanks for the warning on the coming snow storm - predicted it will be here Thursday and noreaster on Sat/sun..brrrrrrr....
I think I have to plan what to cook sebab sbila ejuk2 ni asyik raid the kitchen aje.

P.S. - ur white bread turned out awesome - pandai-nya you buat roti sendiri. I made sweet rolls last Thanksgiving and lucky me it turned out well. I have a hard time making any thing with yeast.

mona...biasalah..winter kan :) kat dalam rumah tak sejuk sangat sebab ada heater..kat luar kira once you get used to it tak sejuk sangat lah..cuma kena paki berlapis2 jer..hahahaha..
lin, freezing yes :) but sempat jugak i keluar amik gambar pakai sweater and in my pj bottoms..hehe. nak pinjam sarah and sarina..hehe..boleh boleh..tapi kena tahan dengan diorang nyer talkative-ness :)
We are waiting for snow storm tonight! 5 to 7 inches. Tomorrow I will have problem going to work..but jangan haraplah that bank will close for business. So cold here its not even funny. We never have that icy branches like that tau...nice!! Enjoy your picture snapping! Donch forget to bundle up.
Rosma, I saw some clips on the news over here about the snow storm in the States and saw those icy branches, trees and all.They do look beautiful but at the same time can pose danger. The only closest thing I get to those icicles are looking at my freezer at home =)
Insya'allah you will get to see and feel the heat and humidity in S'pore when you balik kampung next year. Then you'll wish that this country would have snow =)

kak za...i can imagine how cold it could be up there..what's with the wind kat sana..you dah stock up makanan ker tidak..kat sini kan..on monday night, sean said that ppl are going to grocery store and cleaning up the shelves..takut kena stuck in this bad weather..mintak2 bank you tutop for one day lah..that way you tak payah drive..but if they lose power..would you be losing it too..are you in the same grid as they are?..if not..hopefully power failure kat bank tu ajer eh..hehehe..make sure you bundle up also..bundle apa2 yang kena bundle :)
yara..yep..like my trees kat sini..and my neighbour's trees kat depan..sayang and kesian nengok pokok..but the dangers lies with the trees lining the road, trees falling on power lines and icy roads...banyak car or vehicles masuk ditches kat sini..oh mmg..looking forward to the hunidity back home :) insyallah..hehe
sri..hai..ni lah kalau dapat kids yang jadi collector..si sarah pun i nengok dah ada tokoh nak jadi macam kakak dia lah..hahaha. i saw that from two icicles dah berganda2 dah..and every hour or so she will go and inspect..tak cukup kakak inspect..adik pun tarik ladder bukak freezer to inspect jugak..quality control lah katakan..hahha..ice ni mmg lawa..very clean and suci gitu..hahahha

zee..that is so true..best to experience the different types of weather here. from my experience..winter is actually good sebab you appreciate the hot weather more..hahaha. but also..with this cold..all the bugs will die off..so it will not be that bad come spring and summer of next year. wonder what the weather is like in oregon..ada snow tak eh? is it similar to california? and nope..the icicles have not melted yet..due to the snow..it is icy again. :)
