fishballs and durian

well, yesterday we went to hutchinson, salina and wichita. salina first..we went to get sarina's violin. yep..we are actually renting it for 4 mths at a time. the teacher said that since she is still growing, it is better to just rent it. also, i figured that if she doesn't want to follow through, it won't be a waste of money. i am also thinking of sarah joining her in the violin lessons. apparently, they can start as young as 2 years old. based on the suzuki method. there's a class conducted every saturday, but you know how precious saturday is to sean. so we opted for the private lessons. sarina will then start her lessons proper when i set the date with the teacher. after talking to the guy who runs the string instrument rental company, i asked if it is too late for adults wanting to try and learn how to play..he said nope..so sean is thinking of learning how to play the double base and i am thinking of learning how to play the cello..heheh..ni kira i berangan jer lah...hahhahahaha..but not for the girls and sean though..so we'll see.

tuari i masak lauk kari daging..i makan dengan roti prata kawanku..yumms! teringat roti prata mama yang kat sana..selalu suruh adik beli sekeping dua kuah campur arrrr!..hehehe

then we, went to hutchinson. sean wanted to take the girls to the cosmosphere. this is the museum where they kept all things concerning space exploration. like the space shuttles from the gemini and the apollo missions..the space suits..the moon rock and the russian stuffs as well. we got to see the sputnik, the on that they kept as a spare..and all sorts of space stuff lah. i wanted to take some pictures , but not sure whether we can or not..so i didn't take any. there was the the full size mock up of the lunar module..sarina was excited, but sarah..well paham2 jer lah sarah nyer attention span. sib baik i dah selalu sangat pergi that it didn't bother me as much having to run after her.

weather wise, it was not a good one. it started out okay..then it began ti rain and there was also sleet. we saw icicles forming on signs and sean was not optimistic that we could get to wichita. but sleet turned to snow and all was okay. the snowflakes were huge and it was falling steadily. but it still wasn't bad lah.

fishballs yang dah masak...i love the chewy texture that you get from processing the fish paste..the more you process..the chewier the texture.

we went to wichita after that and went to eat at the turkish restaurant there. i love that place. anyway, when we got there, there were not that many ppl. there was us a another party of 4 that was leaving anyway. sarina and i ordered the same thing while sarah had chicken nuggets :) anyway, sean ate this salad that has raw onions in them, onions which i ignored. he ordered a gyro sandwich and of course it has more raw onions. well, sean likes to annoy me by blowing his breath in my directions after eating such stuff....well, sarina sat next to him and she started complaining about his onion breath..by this time, there was only us and the waitress plus the cook that was in the restaurant. sarah also started to complain about that, when the waitress came over to see if we needed anything and to give us the bill. all this while the girls were going euww..and the waitress commented on how onions can have a very strong aroma..hehehe...when sarah piped in..loudly pulak tu..yeah..onions are smelly...my father farts a lot of times too!..hahahahahahahahahahhahahah.

i was laughing so hard at this point..tak leh berenti sehhh...the waitress was laughing too..but sean was so embarassed. he was laughing and his face was red...but sarah did not stop there..she kept on going how at home daddy farts all the time..hahahahhaa....but the waitress was funny also. she said' oh don't worry..i didn't hear that' and started to put her fingers in her ears and went 'la la la la la la '...hahahahahahhaha..by now sean just got up and waited in the car...i was still laughing my ass off when i went to the car and even when we were in the car driving to our next destination..hahahahahhahahahahahah

isi dia so soft and custardy..sweet also..but no smell. pastu muak pulak i makan sorang2..hahahahha

anyway, time balik kan..weather took a turn for the worse...it was sleeting and the roads were icy and slippery. a drive that would take us normally an hour and a half lasted three hours..we had to go on average a speed of 25 mph. but bagus jugak lah sean is such a cautious driver..a lot of cars were zooming past us..but he maintained that spped..we saw an suv lying on it's side in the ditch..we saw a car in the ditch..we saw several tracks where cars have slipped into the ditches next to the road. so sampai rumah nak dekat pukul 9 gitu..what a day..it was exciting, funny and tiring..but all of us had a great time, as sean's expense that is..hahahahhaa.

dah buat fishball...tak tau pulak nak masak apa..so buat lah kway teow..my standby noodle dish that i like :) taruk telur burung sedap :) if i do say so myself..hahaha

so semalam kat vietnamese store..i beli ikan tenggiri sekor and ikan kembong 4 ekor..ikan kembong for future project..nak buat laksa :) ikan tenggiri, pulak, this morning i buat fishballs..tekak ni nak nak makan ..so i found this easy recipe in one of my cookbooks and it turned out great. tasted like the ones back home :) now dah buat kan..tak tau pulak nak masak apa dengan fish balls ni..hahaha..so i made kway teow goreng with it. the rest maybe bila buat soup2 gitu can put it in. i also bought first even..frozen durian. tasted great..but minus the smell :) but since i jer sorang yang makan..macam boring gitu lah..hahahahhaa...teringat dulu..one of my cats kat singapore..loved eating durian..i lupa pulak which one :)
