so this morning, siang siang i buat mee kuning. this time, i added extra yellow food colouring..and karer mee dia sooooo nice. i know the recipe calls for two white eggs kan..and i think, this is the first time i actually followed the recipe proper. biasa i main taruk jer the egg yolks..but this time..i did not. taruk garam extra..sebab i takder telur masin kan..and for 350gms of flour..lepas buat..dapat lah almost sekilo mee kuning. i like the chewy texture of our noodles. mmg boleh beli yang the dried ones yang they all jual kat asian store..but mana boleh lawan fresh noodles kan.
anyway, i buat this mee goreng for lunch for sean and i..sarahnyer lunch apa tau..cookie crisps cereal..hahaha...bagus kan i..mak bapak makan mee anak lantak makan cereal jer..hahahahaha. anyway, the taste of these noodles mmg ada rasa macam mee goreng mama kat kedai..you know..maybe i dah live here for too long lah..so i felt bad using the word mamak..or mama..hahaha..maybe i should just write mee goreng india..to be politically correct...hahaha..that sounds a bit strange...hee hee!
well...for those yang nak cuba try...hahahahha...the resipi senang tau..bak kata the person who shared this resepi...it is all in the sos..hahaha.
Sos:
lada, bawang merah, bawang putih (not too many) and udang kering. blend the whole thing together and tumis pakai minyak...masak sampai minyak naik but not too dry hor...of course must season it lah..taruk salt okay. then taruk tepi.
the rest of the ingredients:
ground beef ( goreng dulu)
kobis, hiris
taugeh
sawi
tomato di belah 4
telur (scrambled)
kacang peas
kentang rebus
oyster sauce
light and dark soy sauce ( for the dark sauce..i pakai kicap manis)
cili and tomato sos
salt and sugar
2tbs of the sauce that you had pre-made...this one up to you actually. it should depend on how much noodles you are using and how spicy you want it to be
panaskan sikit minyak kat dalam kuali...scarambled eggs first..the remove. then tumis the sauce and add in all the other sauces..taste dulu before adding more salt if necessary..but kalau tak nak taruk salt..can put more soy sauce. add the sugar too. then taruk kobis and sawi and tomato and the beef, for a couple of minutes..then add noodles and kentang and peas..last baru taruk taugeh...and voila..dah siap.
so for my next project..i nak try buat fried carrot cake lah...dah berapa kali i beli daikon radish...but selalu ended up in my compost pile..hehe..this time..insyallah will definitely make it..so we'll see how rajin i am this week.
ingatkan nak buat the oatmeal raisin cookies from zee nyer resepi..but apa nak buat..tak menjadi..sebab telur tinggal tiga biji jer kat esbob and masak mee seme..dah yilek dah..nanti sarina balik nak suruh dia gi kedai lah beli telur and butter..hehee..rajin anak i sorang tu kalau i suruh dia gi kedai :)

I suka mee goreng mama kat westcoast. Ada pieces of kentang rebus, pieces of telur dadar, and of course daging dia kasar2. Wahh...malam ni nak buat mee goreng pakai spagetti lah...wohoo...

si sarah boleh join my eldest son, makan cereal for breakfast, lunch and dinner pun he wont mind.. tapi kira okaylah jugak, the cereals hv the carbo, protein and other nutrients they need. i think more healthy too..
tanx for the mee mamak recipe. in KL pun they dont call mee mamak tau.. we say mee goreng india. Sensitive u :D
Rosma, alhamdulillah - bagus-nya you bolih buat fish-ball dan mee kuning sendiri - eh, let me know bila you datang ke-Massachusetts next time - I nak book you a date bukak klas kat my house ke - I jemput makcik2 yang di-sini attend - pasti ada yang interested. Tu pun kalau you nak share the resipelah kan. Amacam ?
Kalau Kak Za nak host kat Westport pun tak apa kan Za ?.
mm..but still tak boleh lawan the original punya lah..hehe
nora..ah ah..it's dollar general. it is near downtown..so she will ride her bike down. she loves going to the store..makes her feel like and adult. sometimes kalau i malas nak gi post office..she will do it for me..again riding her bike lah..hehe. the normal grocery store tu jauh sikit so that one we'll go together. i try to tell myself that also..that cereal is a lot healthier than all the carbs like rice..hahahaha..tu ah her mid afternoon snack..cheerios without milk..hahah
kak nor, insyallah..sharing recipe ni no problem..haha. resepi pun iut buku and some i found online :) sure, insyallah nanti bila i pergi sana..iter buat parti masak2 eh...haha...your place boleh..or any place pun okay jugak lah...i tak cerewet..hahah
Like u, my preference is usually bee hoon. Once in a blue moon, or kalau tersalah order, baru lah makan mee kuning. And one in ten, baru dapat yang sungguh enak... like u say, the secret is in the kuah. If the kuah sedap, then sedap lah the mee :) I like my mee goreng basah2, baru power :) Yours looks power indeed!! Boleh order tak?? :)
sweets...yep once in a blue blue moon :) but you know how it is..when we are far away from things that we can get easily at home..tu lah time that the tekak would want to eat those things..hahahahahaha. oh boleh boleh..you come here and i buat satu order..hahahaha..we trade the eclairs for the mee..hahah
Nor - Rosma tu nak kena paksa baru dia datang. But thanksgiving dia mesti datang lah..kalau tak datang kita menangis melalak kat sini.
Boleh2..kalau nak buat klas masak kat westport pun boleh. Kita jemput sapa2 yang sudi nak datang tengok suasana kampung. Pastu kita M-A-K-A-N ramai2.
