back in the old days, these kinda furniture was popular...nowadays..it is deemed as tacky..which i share the same view..heheh
the paperwork is almost done yeayyyyyy! actually not that many more things to do. just do the spreadsheets and i am done. i did the collating of the receipts and all that already. today spent most of my time doing that. and going through them and noting what sort of expenses they are for. tax documents are trickling in..so have to wait for a few more. i am think a lot more actually.
almost had a migraine this morning. seme sarah nyer pasal lah...kejap2 mommy this and mommy that..suara nyaring dia lah yang boleh buat i pening kepala sometimes. that and yelling at sarina....boleh stress habis lah trying to teach her stuff. she is the type that tak nak orang ajar..wants to figure out stuff herself..i nak explain pun dia main potong jer..mana tak i mengamuk..but kalau buat betul satu hal..salah sehhh..then when i pointed it out to her tak terima..then i asked her if she's like this when the teacher is teaching her..nope..she said she listens to her teacher proper..then told her that she has to give the same kind of respect lah..alamakkkk..macam nak kena pelempang betul tau..hehehe..but she picked up quickly lah..alhamdullilah...
guess what i am teaching her...singapore maths..yep..and my goodness...the stuff that sarina is missing by learning what it taught here. two step problems where the kids over there are already exposed at pri. 1 kan..over here..not even in third grade. so i have to start from the beginning in trying to explain to her how questions are phrased in the exercises. straight forward sums she has no problems...tu lah..stuck at the two steps stuff. so we'll see how she does eh..she is doing the exercises right now.
well, last saturday kan, we went to see the garden of eden. it is a museum of sorts and well, it all began when this guy started building or constructing concrete sculptures. it started with biblical stuff and by the time he died, he got to political as well he's a mason too and based on his sculptures..he was also a liberal at heart. way progressive for ppl living in that era which was the late 1900s and early 20th century. all i can say is, that place is creepy. even in broad day light. get this, his first wife, died right..but he wanted to bury his wife in his yard in a crypt, but city said no..so buried her at the local cemetery, but came night time..he went and dug up his wife's body and sealed her in a concrete tomb. and then when he died, he requested to be buried in the mausoleum...with a glass top...now for years we have only been on the outside. so that day we finally went in. kena bayar sehh,...
he made this guy and placed it just outside the kitchen window. the idea behind it was that, since he is always working on his sculptures outside, he made this for his wife, so that she would not be lonely. and if she were to look out, she could see this little man to remind her of him. kalau i lah kan..kalau sean buat camni..the next day itself..bende ni i pecahkan..hahahah..call me superstitious
anyway, went we went into the mausoleum, sean said that we would be able to see his face..yess..through the glass but the girl that was in charge that day said that i cannot take pictures of this guy. so we went in. now went i went in i takut jugaklah how the girls would be kan..especially sarina...sean doesn't seem to make a big deal out of it...so in we went...what can i say..there's a certain smell..not bad but not good either..smell of something old..so i went slowly up to the concrete (what else..hehe) coffin and looked at his face...it is almost mummified..but unlike the egyptian mummies..this guy's skin was all crackling and stuff...euuuuwww! sarah didn't seem to mind..she was smiling..but sarina was kinda errmmm...cautious..maybe even a bit frightened..so cepat2 i kata okay lah..let's go outside. after that we went checking the rest of the compound.
well, this weekend we are going to wichita and tomorrow we'll be going to salina. oh we are also going to the cosmophere and the salt museum in hutchinson. so we'll see if i can take pictures in there..maybe not the salt museum but the cosmophere maybe. anywayy for more pics, it's all here.

The opening line... I pun sama lah, and I blame it on eating all the spicy food which makes me want to reach out to sweet stuff to counteract the heat. Padahal a few weeks ago, perut dah rasa kempes, then now back to boncit and bloaty *hahaa* Oh well, just enjoy the food while we all can, yea.
That first pic of the furniture... the kaki so menyeramkan! Macam spider seh... malam2 agaknye dia bergerak tak?
