well..another year has gone by and she is now 10 :) double digit already..hehe! have talked to her about the biological changes to the body and that she needs to tell me if something happens..al-maklumlah...mak i dulu very conservative..hehe! i learn most stuff from my friends or school..hahah!
anyway, it was a low key celebration..but she was very happy. bapak dia very generous lah..yelah..he so manja the two girls :) in his own way of course. for dinner..sarina requested fish tacos..tak amik gambar pulak..sebab i dah tak sabar nak makan my ketam with the kicap cili padi. punyalah khusyuk makan ketam sampai ter cut my thumb on the shell. but that did not stop me from eating...hehe. told sarina to get a plaster and sambung balik ni..haha!
she is very happy with her cake. white cake with italian meringue butter cream :)
of course she also requested a cake. she asked me if i can make a squirrel cake..i cakap..mana boleh..so then she said can i make a spongebob cake. i said i can try..and ta-dah..here is the spongebob cake..where spongebob looked like he's on crack..hahahahah!
spongebob on crack...sarah kept saying that this is an ugly spongebob..i pun boring kan..send her out of the kitchen..hehe!
well, we went camping for the last time this summer. the girls and sean are burnt. it was windy but when the sun shines..tak kisah lah windy ker tidak..you will get burn. banyak mana pun you lumur the sun tan lotion, it will get to you somehow. well..just to let you all know..this is my current fav dish. it is called bibimbap..a korean dish with lots and lots of fresh veges and well as the pickled kimchi! i simply love their bean sprouts tau..senang nak buat. just add a bit of oil then add the light soy sauce and a bit of sesame oil..sedap you! makan dengan lauk asam pedas pun syiok!
bibimbap...i know, i know..it rhymes with jatuh berdebab..hahaha! okay silly joke :)
the cucumber..tu i buat macam pickle sikit2 lah..alah macam kita nyer acar simple..just add salt, sugar and vinegar :) the carrots..just grate it like that. and the meat kan..i beli ( or you can get the recipe for the marinade) at the korean store, for the premade marinade..and just stir fry it oh high heat! and ta- dah..bibimbap :)
inilah dia..the kimchi..basically pickled cabbages with peppers and garlic and vinegar. cannot eat too much...the smell can come out of your pores the next day..it is that strong..i can only eat a bit at a time..hehe! talk about garlic breath..haha!

Happy Birthday Sarina, sorry I didnt know or maybe I just forgot that it was your special day. That cake must be very difficult to do. But you are lucky - your mommy is a super cook. She can make everything. When you are here in Nov, and we go shopping together - if you see any cute stuff you want, let me know ok? And that goes to Sarah too, because its only once a year that I get to see you girls.
Bun - I selalu nak tanya apa rasa kimchi. I tengok dorang buat taruk dalam tempayan, mcm geli gitu. But one of my friends loves kimchi and asked me to make some for him. I tak kuasa. Is it mcm sawi asin?
Nama dia pun kelakar eh..bibimbap?
Padan dengan muka I yang gedebap kan? wahahahaa...

Oh ni u sebut bimbimbap..pat banquet jurong point ada jual nasik dia with the beef and kimchi..tak ingat tu bimbimbap ke bimbambangg..kekkekke..tapi sedap..i love nasik diorang..yg taugey tu mcm i masak goreng taugey recipe dia eh..i pernah masak gini tapi with bawang2 n cili hiris..taruk kicap n sesame oil..mmg sedap..

kak za..tak yah lah nak bawak diaorang shopping..hehehe! bawak mak diorang shopping lagi best...hahaha! kimchi ni kan kak za..rasa dia sedap jugak lah. have to see the brand jugak..rasa masam pedas sikit but very garlicky. i memula pun tak termakan sebab flavours very strong..but the process sikit lebih kurang sama dengan buat sawi asin..hehe. now they have modern kimchi yang they sell in packets..tu they all tak taruk dalam tempayan..haha. nak buat kimchi boleh mmg..sebab korean stores carries the ingredients..but lecehlah nak buat sendiri :) i think so ..biasalah..kalau bulan puasa..insyallah i will amik gambar makan kanan...hahahah! same here here kak za...ramadhan kareem to you too :)
sri..thank you for the well wishes and amin :) ah ah..they all berjemur kat swimming pool and the lake..and then we went cycling in the sun..so they mmg very tanned :) itu 'out now' mmg everyday dialog lah..haha! yes..that is it..the beef i mmg pernah buat..but that day i only have marinade for the chicken..so i made that lah. pun sedap jugak tau..i like the sweetish taste of the meat :)same to you sri..ramadhan kareem :)
