the cookies rady to be coated. nampak tak how big i made them..hahahaaha... but as they say kan..big is beautiful :)
berkilau2 the chocolate. i takder semisweet chocolate..so i bedal jer the bittersweet chocolate coating and the taste is not bad. it compliments the sweetness of the cookies well :)
and voila! i think the ingredients are cheaper here tak? i mean kat sana nak nak time raya everything is expensive kan..esp the chocolate. i now see why these cookies are expensive. sebab it uses a lot of chocolate lah..nuts kat sini..well..ada kala murah and sometimes, it can be expensive too :)
and then kan..before sarah gi sekolah..we had to go to downtown nak kena post something back. on the way pulak..ternampak bende yang kat bawah ni..we were so happy :) this is one of the edible wild mushroom. it is called the puffball..sebab rupa dia sebiji macam bola mmg. and when it has gone to spore..bila you touch kan..the kulit pecah and pooofff...you can see the spores coming out of the ball. taste wise, this is one of the more delicious mushrooms that i have ever tasted. better than the morels that i found earlier this year..yummmss!
lok at that :) sanggup seh i bawak balik..masuk dalam envelope..simpan kat dalam beg..hahaha. too bad, the other one..dah too old..it was kinda soft and mushy..so i lempar kat belakang rumah in the back yard hoping that, next year they will grow in the back eh..hahha. this variety kan..only one out of the many , is poisonous. when you cut it open..and if it is white and firm..then yes..by all means it eat.even if it is a bit soft but still white..boleh makan. but if it is yellow inside..don't bother..taste not good. kalau purple lagi..jangan makan..that is poisonous..hehe.
i get so excited when i see this on the ground. sarah lagi excited kalau she sees any mushrooms. she knows better than to touch them. she only touches what i had told her jer..good girl :) she said that when she grows up..she wants to become a mushroom hunter :) bagus..asal tak jadi ghost hunter sudahlah...
see how this mushroom is different from the umbrella mushroms. it is very dense and meaty :)
since it does not keep well..balik jer..terus cuci and i fry them either in butter with salt and pepper or just in olive oil with s&p. this one, i put it in sean's patty melt for iftar..sorry ah..takder gambar..hahahhaha. tak sempat nak amik..empunya pinggan dah ngap kat patty melt tu :)

mey..hehe..i am by nature a curious person..to me all look like food..sebab tu my hub panggil i hobbit..hahaha. anyway, i bought books on mushrooms and i yang taste test dulu lah :) but if it is poisonous, you'd know :) the smell can be off putting too :) amende tu cendawankelomemeh..maklumlah..i ni kan american malay..hahahahhaa..perasan seyyyyyyy...hahahahahhaa

wahhh siang2 dia dah buat kueh! hehehee jual kat bazaar tak? :D kita kat sini baru beli ingredients semalam. apa lah, nak bayar kat cashier pun merebut2 :P sgprean kalau tak merebut, tak sah lah. harga choc naik sikit... depends on the quality and where it's made from, tapi guaranteed semua harga naik, esp butter, cheeses, milk & apa2 kena-mengena dengan lembu. hersheys semi sweet morsels tengah ada sale. 4.90 a packet i think. usual price around 6.90. so i bought a few to stock up on. tollhouse my fav dah lama takde... only cold storage ada but mahal giler... think it's around 8 - 9 $ a packet. california walnuts dah lama takde. tinggal china walnuts aje. i dowan coz dunno what they inject in the walnuts *hahaha* so beli pecans lah, a bit more ex, but will be worth it. tu lah, my report on ingredients. :P

Are you serious abt that mushroom? Boleh makan ke? Kat belakang barn memang banyak bende ni. But I tak berani lah nak makan. I just pijak2 aja for fun. Sometimes John keep them on the ground for me utk main pijak2...kekekeke..macam budak2! But I love to see the particles.
Rajin you buat London Almond. I prefer kueh makmur! Isi taruk pecan instead of peanuts. Maybe I will make some this weekend. Kueh makmur dah jadi my trademark during Christmas. Alot of our friends will ask for it!

mags :) i was just experimenting. and now..wahh..best the recipe menjadik :) well..for some reason over here, salted butter banyak takder kat walmart..well landolakes nyer brand lah..but the store brand banyak and it is so much cheaper too. tadi ada sale..ghiradelli's nyer chocolate chips ada sale..2 for $4..maybe rezeki i..haha. alhamdullilah :) oh no..wild mushrooms tastes nothing like the white button mushrooms. where it could be bland kan..these wild mushrooms are more earthy. this one after frying them kan..tastes exactly like telor goreng..no joke :)
kak za..yep..there are a couple of variety yang cannot be eaten, but generally, these ones are very delicious :)i pun ingat nak buat makmue sikit..but kueh ni pun kira project i lah :) insyallah terkabul niat i..hahahha.

Your almond london looks really tempting,ni mesti the girls and the girls mommy and daddy cant stop popping into the mouth kan...oopps bulan puasa eh i mean lepas buka lah of course.Anyways kak rosma,you pakai baking choc apa,theres one time kan i used ghiradelli to make the cornflakes last year it was not too bad and I would have to agree with you,dan find baking stuffs cheaper here too.

A'ah.. so true, last week beli butter RM2.60, this week dah naik RM3.30.. nak raya ni semua naik.. gaji je tak naik :(

zee..so far i am the only one eating these cookies..there goes whatever weight that i could have lost during the fast for the past two weeks..hahah. i use ghiradellis..i prefer them to say, nestle or hersheys..if only i can find guittard..that would be even better...haha..insyallah zee :)
