makcik..spergeti with garlic bread satu ahh..

tengah hari tadi..balik lunch jer..i asked sean apa dia nak makan kan..ingat kan nak buat sandwich jer with salad and soup..but he requested spaghetti with the work. which is inclusive of garlic bread and caeser salad. have to say, this meal..mmg diorang nyer favourite lah. cuma tulah..sometimes mmg malas nak buat kan..hahahha. but kesian tengok orang puasa..so buat jugaklah :) and this is how i make my home made garlic bread.



kata garlic bread kan..so kena taruk garlic banyak..no need to lokek with this..kalau tak..the taste is going to be very mild jer..no kick. but lepas makan..jangan lah breathe dekat2 orang eh..hahahha


next thing..is the herb of choice..for this one, i prefer parsley. nak nak italian parsley..kalau kat sana susah nak dapat..pakai jer curly parsley kat pasar..but taste wise, italian nyer lagi strong and better tasting lah. this one came from my garden ..i ada lah dua tiga pokok mende ni :) nanti insyallah time nak dekat winter, i nak harvest the leaves and make the garlic herbed butter like this and freeze them in the freezer :)


kalau ada mini processor, use it..kalau tak kan..you can just cincang the garlic and the parsley using the knife..


then you add the softned butter and gaul..kalau tak pakai mende ni lah. kalau pakai kan..ah lepas process the garlic and the parsley..put a stick of butter. kalau pakai unsalted butter, make sure you put in a bit of salt and pepper to taste lah..kalau tak tawar lerr..but kalau pakai salted butter, then no need lah.


dah jadi herbed garlic butter, for spreading on bread to make garlic bread. this butter also is good to lomor on chicken and roast it or pan fry it. :) and this butter can freeze very well kalau buat terlebih.


there ya go..sapu jangan tak sapu :)

and the bakar..i put under the broiler...so the top is garing but still soft at the bottom.


the spergeti with marinara sauce :) i buat pedas nyer. trick to making pasta sauce..make sure it is not too sweet. it has to be tangy yet flavourful..kalau too tangy..can add lah a tsp of sugar or two..but not too much ( ni dah macam ribena nyer ad eh..ingat tak..or is it susu nyer ad? can i have some? yes but not too much..hahaha )


the homemade caesar salad..easy recipe :) one egg yolk, a tbs of mustard, 2 anchovy fillets, a dash of worcetershire sauce, 2 cloves of garlic, juice of a lemon, salt and pepper, 1/4 cup olive oil or to taste..then blender all this things and add grated parmesan cheese when tossing :)

Yum yum! Malam nie memang nak makan salad, after yesterday's cooking ordeal, malas nak cook lagi. Buat berperang aje :P I love ceasar salad - i think the ikan bilis in the dressing is the one that makes it power :D

That time ada maid, she ter-accidentally taruk sambal kicap into the spaghetti sauce. Sedap pulak! hahaha! Then another time, she put sambal nasi ayam. Hahaha! Also sedap! Tekak melayu, apa sambal taruk pun kick :D

cik mey..apa dia yang awak tak paham..hehehe...all the things, just masuk dalam blender and press the button..voila..dah jadi dressing :) by nthe way..itu anchovy fillets kan..not the ikan bilis kering ..eh...hahahha...

sweets :)i know..during fasting mth ni kan..salads are good sebab it is not so filling like carbs. perut sebu tak best :) oh biasalah..apa2 sambal taruk kat dalam our food mmg sedap..hahahha.

nora..ampunkan daku bukan niatku untuk menggoda tekak mu..hahahahhaha :) you all dah buka kan sekarang..kita baru start puasa :)

mona..apa nak buat..terpaksa..but buat lagi best sebab ikut citarasa sendiri..mana ada bende tu baru..bende dah buruk lah..yang kat bawah besar punya..yang atas the smaller version. sajer tunjuk cara :)

Tadi teringat your salad dressing, I cepat2 buat, but pakai mayo and ikan bilis goreng. Nak beli anchovies dalam can geli lah rupa dia *hehehee* Rasa dia definitely not like the real thing, tapi janji rock! :D Sekali sekali makan salads instead of rice bila tengah puasa. Perut pun like you say tak sebu like always. But skejap lagi mesti lapar lagi :P Makan chocolates dulu lah :D So what's next on your To Cook List? kaypoh pulak i... hehehe

sweets..that is something new..mayo and ikan bilis goreng..hahahha. you know, you can patent this recipe and make it a malay style salad dressing tau :) true...fill up with the salads and it feels great. i know..that is why...mesti ada standy desserts or snacks..hahahaha, tonight, the crew requested pizza :)

hmm garlic bread recipe simple jek kan... leh try lah nanti. part Caesar salad tu confuse sikit... ada pakai macam-macam tu ek? ari tu kawan tu ajar letak olive oil kot... dan gaul jek heheh... ni nampak lagi sedap... confuse sikit pasal salad. yang pakai thousand island dressing tuh nama salad apa lak ek? sorry noob sikit... hehe kalau tak silap berbeza kan american salad dengan european?

faisal :) mmg simple resepi garlic bread. oh salad tu dia nyer resepi mmg pakai banyak barang. sebab tu the taste very nice and rich :) the simplest nyer dressing for salad kan..mmg just olive oil, salt pepper and lemon juice..to add tang :) that is the simplest and sometimes the best :) kalau pakai thousand island dressing kira macam salad biasa..cuma the name of the dressing jer thousand island..like this one..the person who created this dressing was a mexican chef named caeser :) mmg american salad..the dressing sometimes very heavy lah..too fattening..european nyer depends..ada light and ada heavy jugak..depends on what it is for :)oh tak yah lah nak mintak sori :) i ni pun sama jugak sikit lebih kurang :)

I should have phrased that correctly: mayo base. And ikan bilis substitute. Plus worchestershire sauce, dijon mustard, garlic, parmesan cheese, salt n pepper... Hahahaha!! tak lah mayo and ikan bilis jer... tak jadi nanti *hehehe*

omg look so sedap kak rosma !!! Btw i was thinking of making my own dough the past few days, i so miss pizzahut crust. But since m sometimes so lazy..haha tak jadi jadi.

I found one site, that says the recipe is akin to the one they serve at pizza hut. If pass, nanti i share the recipe on multi !

Anyways yr parsley right, did u get the seeds from home depot? My daun ketumbar is growing , but not as great as it shld be. I used my own seeds =(

sweets, oh yes :) i knew what you meant, but like i said, ikan bilis goreng..very interesting taste i bet :) hehehe.

kak za..untung pun tak untung mana lah..they have to put up with my mood swings..hahahaha. yelah mak ni kan macam pms memanjang gitukan :)

fir, the dough kan..so long as you put yeast and sugar and salt and a bit of olive oil, gerenti jadi nyer :) insyallah. yeah the parsley, sometimes i used my own seeds and alhamdullilah okay..the cilantro kan..needs a ton of sunlight, try putting it somewhere it can get that lah. these ones, i bought the plants from walmart..hahahahhaha. sebab these year, i had tons of stuff that i had germinated, but kes lambat transfer..habis gitu sajer :)
